Product Shelf Life Testing
Knowing how long your food product will last before its quality or safety is compromised is critical to its success. Results from shelf life and challenge studies can not only help you ensure the integrity of your brand, but can also be applied to various cost reduction and R&D decisions. With our strong team of shelf life experts and state-of-the-art food testing facilities, Northland Laboratories can accurately and efficiently provide these vital insights.
Food product shelf life study design has to be scientifically sound in order to support its eventual outcome. Our team of experts has over 50 years of combined food testing and shelf life determination experience. We utilize the full range of FDA and USDA tools, as well as many other proven research sources to design a shelf life or challenge study that can effectively evaluate various product qualities.
Along with our team of experts, we utilize state-of-the-art environmental chambers that control and measure temperature, humidity and/or light at either programmable or constant levels. Through the course of the study, at each evaluation interval, we can leverage any of the resources of our full service food chemistry, microbiology or sensory laboratories to develop a comprehensive view of the state of your product.
